Gettysburg’s Annual Remembrance Day Parade takes place on Saturday, November 23. It is the 150th Anniversary of the Parade – the 1st one took place on November 19, 1863, when the new Soldiers Cemetery was dedicated, and when President Lincoln gave the Gettysburg Address.
This year we expect about 5,000 parade participants, mostly Civil War re-enactors. The parade starts at 1 p.m. from Lefever Street to Liberty Street, then along Middle Street to Lincoln Square, then down Baltimore Street, right past The Brickhouse Inn.
At 5.30 to 9.30 there will be the 11th Annual Remembrance Illumination – the graves of Civil War soldiers will be lit with candles.
