Every summer, from May to October, we aim to serve breakfast on the patios. Our guests love to eat outside with the waterfall nearby, the flowers around, and the birds singing. It’s easier for us too, because there’s more space to serve, and the guests can sit in fours or twos. Of course we’re at the mercy of the weather! This morning it was drizzling at 6.45 a.m. and I decided that we would have to eat inside. By 7.15 it had cleared and we hastily dried the tables and chairs on the patios and put out the table settings. The first sitting (16 guests) started at 8.15, and a short while afterwards it clouded over and I thought the rain was moments away – but we were lucky!
