Fireside Civil War Seminars! Please join us on select Saturday evenings during the winter months for a series of fireside seminars, led by Gettysburg Licensed Battlefield guide, John Weixel.

Topics will include any or all of the following as guest interests dictate:

 Gettysburg, Pivotal event in American History?~The Civil War began in 1789?~The "What if's" of Gettysburg; Blunders, Controversies, and Mysteries.~Did Lee lose or did Meade win?~Chamberlain and other Gettysburg heroes.~Lincoln, the Indespensible Man?~Was the cause Slavery or States rights?~America in the 1850's; The End of Compromise.~Slavery, Secession and the Constitution.~The Cost of Freedom; Casualties and Battlefield Tactics.

The sessions are oriented toward  informal discussion and lots of Q&A and will be held in our parlor select Saturday evenings from 4-6 pm. Hot cider and cookies will be served. The cost is $15 per person. Please let us know f you would like to reserve a spot. Minimum attendance is 4 persons; individual sessions may be cancelled without adequate participation. Washington, D.C. Tour -Make your trip truly memorable! Let us arrange a day trip for you to our Nations Capitol in the comfort of an air conditioned motorcoach with Stars and Stripes Tours. Suzanne and Donna, your tour guides, have 20 years of experience in showing off the very best of this amazing city.

Tours depart every Tuesday and Thursday morning, just steps from the Brickhouse Inn. We will provide a light packed breakfast to take along with you, and your dinner is included in the ticket price.

Tour stops include the Iwo Jima, World War II, Lincoln, Vietnam and Korean War Memorials. With 3 1/2 hours of free time, you can wander through your choice of ten of the Smithsonian museums, or perhaps you might walk to Ford's Theatre, the Botanical Gardens, Holocaust Museum, National Archives, or the White House.
